October - Great’er Pumpkin- Imperial Pumpkin Ale - Heavy Seas Beer

October and Halloween brings about the ever famous Pumpkin Ales.  And with all the choices out there, we sought out and tried many.  And We have to go with the Bourbon Oak barrel aged Heavy Seas Imperial Pumpkin Ale.  What a great flavor - with that hint of oak in the ale itself.  And if you are a fan of Pumpkin Beers, then you must seek out the Imperial Pumpkin Ale from Heavy Seas.  And should your search find you traveling all the way to Heavy Seas Brewery itself - just show your Beer Drinkers Appreciation Club membership card and take a great tour of the Heavy Seas Brewery for FREE (for members only).

September - Coke Oven Stout - Rust Belt Brewery

For fans of dark beers - I have to say, this beer has become one of my all-time favorite beers.  A great dark beer that does not give you that "full/heavy" feeling.  Dark beer with a hint of chocolate flavoring.  It is a beer that will leave you with that "I want more" feeling.
And let me tell you, the best experience that I have ever had was going to Rust Belt Brewery and trying this beer fresh out of the tap.  Talk about a great little micro-brewery.  Four people involved with a true passion for beer.  The day that I came across Rust Belt - one of their brewers - Brian - was there and talked to me for a good 30 minutes about Rust Belt - talk about someone with a passion for the business - Brian has it.  Rust Belt is tucked away behind the BoxCar Lounge in Youngstown Ohio - just down the street from YSU football stadium.  Looking for something to do on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday - take a trip to Youngstown and have a sampling of Rust Belt Beers.
